“ You ever ate somewhere and you can tell the food was cooked with love? This is that place. Some of the best Chinese food I’ve ever had. The beef lo mein was bursting with flavor. ”
“ I was so lucky to find Lisa’s Kitchen during my travels. Lisa has the warmest heart and I felt right at home... like I was at my aunt’s house with family photos on every table. We were able to communicate in Mandarin so that definitely helped connect us. With her Nebraska location, Lisa cooks both Americanized and Traditional Chinese along with some classic American dishes. I visited in early May so her garden only had chives, but she cut them fresh after I ordered and added them to my chicken and vegetable stir fry (just like my mom makes at home). Crab rangoon is a guilty pleasure I always have and Lisa’s is delicious. ”
“ Lisa’s Kitchen is one of the best Chinese restaurant I’ve ever been to. My boyfriend and I are both half Chinese and have eaten at Chinese places in China and all over the US, from CA to NYC, and we were amazed at how amazing this little Chinese kitchen in rural Nebraska was. It almost sounds like a joke, but this really was an incredible experience. Lisa offers menu items and off-the-menu items (ask her about these). If you can, I’d recommend trying something from both. The food was prepared with love (and with local ingredients from Lisa’s garden)! Our food was steaming hot, delicious, and authentic. Service was great, and Lisa’s granddaughter was helping out for the summer. Typically Lisa will handle everything herself, though! This restaurant would have lines out the door if it were in SF or NY. I’d eat here multiple times a week if I lived here. Gothenburg, consider yourself lucky. And to all the road trippers, Lisa’s Kitchen is a MUST! ”
“ So glad we stopped here! It's hard to find good dim sum even in moderately sized cities and we ran across it here in a tiny town in Nebraska! We had a few kinds of dim sum and the Pad Thai. It was all excellent. The ingredients were very fresh and the Pad Thai was prepared with vermicelli size noodles which is different than we are used to but worked great. Great spot to stop on a road trip, and if you are local you are getting something special that we would have to drive for even in Denver. I'm jealous! ”
“ Food was delicious! We’ll definitely come back again when we’re in the area. We recommend to all. ”
“ I’m vegetarian, and that’s unusual in Gothenburg. No vegetarian options on menu, but Lisa was happy to prepare me a scrumptious assortment of veggies and tofu in a delicious sauce. I arrived only 15 minutes before closing, and she welcomed me to eat there. My husband got the egg rolls, there were 4 thin but long rolls. Yummy in the tummy. ”
“ If I could give this place 10 stars I would!!!! My boyfriend and I were road-tripping from Wisconsin to California. We happened to come across Lisa's Kitchen and my goodness was it INCREDIBLE! Probably the best Chinese food we had ever had and trust me, we have had A LOT of Chinese food - ha! Everything is so fresh and Lisa is wonderful! Stopping here was one of the highlights on our cross country road trip. If you're in Nebraska you have to check it out. She's a phenomenal cook! Thanks Lisa!! ”
“ I was so lucky to find Lisa’s Kitchen on my road trip. Lisa has the warmest heart and I felt so at home... like I was at an auntie’s house with family photos on each table. We were able to connect in Mandarin so that certainly helped bridged our connection. Given her location in Nebraska, Lisa makes both Americanized Chinese and Traditional Chinese plus some American classics. I visited in early May so her garden only had chives ready, but she cut them fresh after I ordered and added them to my chicken and vegetable stir fry (which was like a dish my mom would make at home). Crab rangoon is a guilty pleasure I always get and Lisa’s were delicious. She even offered me fresh mint from her garden when I ordered my hot water so I could make a fresh mint tea. She’s 2 minutes off I-80 and after being on the road for 2 months, eating a home style Chinese meal soothed my soul. This is a gem of a place and I hope more people visit! Lisa’s in her 70s and not monitoring this Google listing so call ahead to make sure she’s open as she sometimes travels to see family or buy supplies in Omaha. ”
